Sangappa B is a seasoned development professional with over 16 years of extensive experience in rural development, social mobilization, livelihood promotion, capacity building, and financial inclusion. He has worked across grassroots, district, zonal, and leadership levels, successfully bridging communities, financial institutions, and development organizations.
Sangappa began his career with the District Project Unit, govt project Tumkur, where he served as District Social Specialist from December 2008 to February 2011. In this role, he played a key part in participatory rural development initiatives, including Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), preparation of Integrated Tank Development Plans, formation and strengthening of Women Interest Groups, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and Tank Users Groups (TUGs). He was instrumental in community mobilization, institutional building, implementation of income generation activities (IGAs), facilitation of rehabilitation and resettlement action plans, and execution of baseline and household surveys. His work ensured strong community participation across all project phases—from planning to post-implementation.
He later joined for Development Sector in August 2011, initially serving as a Training Officer, where he coordinated and documented Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP) and skill training initiatives. He provided counseling and supervision to beneficiaries implementing income generation activities. Promoted to Staff Training Coordinator (December 2011 – March 2012), he was responsible for designing training programs, developing study materials, managing public relations, overseeing finance and information systems, staff recruitment, and reporting.
From April 2012 to February 2021, Sangappa served as Programme Coordinator and Project Executive, leading large-scale rural development programs. His responsibilities included strategic planning and execution of programs, formation and capacity building of farmer groups and women SHGs, coordination of Farmer Field Schools focusing on Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture (LEISA) technologies, and promotion of sustainable livelihoods. He facilitated credit linkages with Nationalized and other banks., supported the formation of producer collectives, promoted collective marketing, and worked towards developing organic product value chains.

His expertise lies in institution building, financial inclusion, rural entrepreneurship, and stakeholder coordination. With deep grassroots understanding and strong managerial capabilities, he continues to drive impactful development initiatives that empower rural communities, women, and smallholder farmers.
Since March 2021, Sangappa has been working as Zonal Manager in Financial Inclusion. In this leadership role, he supervises and mentors team leaders, mid-level managers, and grassroots staff to achieve financial inclusion targets, including JLG/SHG mobilization, loan processing, due diligence, and credit linkage with partner banks. He is responsible for recovery management, resolving operational issues with partner banks, developing financial strategies, and ensuring smooth coordination between regional offices and field teams.
Tammanna U. Patil is the Founder & Secretary of Sujeevana Grameenabhivruddhi Samsthe, a grassroots organization committed to inclusive rural development, livelihood promotion, and social empowerment. With deep roots in community service and strong on-ground experience, he has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s vision, values, and long-term strategy.
As Founder, Tammanna U. Patil played a pivotal role in establishing the organization with a clear focus on women’s empowerment, self-help group (SHG) movement, sustainable livelihoods, and financial inclusion. His leadership emphasizes participatory approaches, transparency, and community ownership, ensuring that development interventions are both sustainable and impactful.
In his role as Secretary, he oversees organizational governance, program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and compliance. He works closely with field teams, community institutions, financial partners, and government departments to strengthen grassroots institutions and improve access to livelihoods, credit, and capacity-building opportunities for rural families.
Basavaraju Badiger is the Co-Founder of Sujeevana Grameenabhivruddhi Samsthe, and a committed grassroots development professional with strong experience in community mobilization and institution building. He has played a key role in shaping the organization’s foundation, mission, and people-centric approach to rural development.
As Co-Founder, Basavaraju Badiger has been actively involved in strengthening Self-Help Groups (SHGs), promoting women’s leadership, supporting livelihood initiatives, and encouraging community participation in development programs. His work focuses on empowering rural families through awareness, capacity building, and access to sustainable income opportunities.
He is known for his close engagement with village communities, practical understanding of rural challenges, and dedication to inclusive growth. Through his leadership, the organization has expanded its outreach and strengthened trust among community institutions, local stakeholders, and partners.
